Old Port of Québec Interpretation Centre

QuebecView of the Old Port of Québec Interpretation Centre from the Louise Basin

The Old Port of Québec Interpretation Centre and the perimeter of the Louise Basin will be significantly redeveloped to accommodate the festivities for the 400th anniversary of Québec.

Every day starting from June 3, 2008, Espace 400e will have a whole host of lively activities around the Louise Basin. On the menu: demonstrations, workshops for children, music performances, debates, meetings, and much more.

At the end of the celebrations, in 2009, the Espace 400e Pavilion will become the Parks Canada Discovery Centre, with a new permanent exhibition on immigration, the St. Lawrence River and the Parks Canada system.

With the development of Espace 400e, handed over to the Société du 400e for 2008, Parks Canada is carrying out the Government of Canada’s desire to make the Louise Basin area one of the legacies that will continue to pay tribute to the spirit of 2008 after the celebrations have ended.
