CANADIAN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT, 1999
Order 2003-87-07-01 Amending the Domestic Substances List
Whereas the Minister of the Environment has been provided with information under section 81 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (see footnote a) in respect of the substances referred in the annexed Order;
Whereas the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Health are satisfied that the substances have been manufactured in or imported into Canada in excess of the quantity prescribed under the New Substances Notification Regulations by the person who provided the information;
Whereas the period for assessing the information under section 83 of that Act has expired;
And whereas no conditions under paragraph 84(1)(a) of that Act in respect of the substances remain in effect;
Therefore, the Minister of the Environment, pursuant to subsection 87(1) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (see footnote b) , hereby makes the annexed Order 2003-87-07-01 Amending the Domestic Substances List.

ORDER 2003-87-07-01 AMENDING THE DOMESTIC SUBSTANCES LIST
AMENDMENTS
1. Section 2 of the Domestic Substances List (see footnote 1) is amended by adding the following after subsection (5):
(6) The letter "P" after the number of a substance in one of Parts 1 to 8 indicates that the substance is a reduced regulatory requirement polymer or biopolymer that
(a) is not one of the types listed in items 1 to 4 of Schedule IX to the New Substances Notification Regulations, has a number average molecular weight greater than 10 000 daltons, with less than 2% of its components having molecular weights of less than 500 daltons, and less than 5% of its components having molecular weights of less than 1 000 daltons;
(b) is not one of the types listed in Schedule IX to those Regulations and that has a number average molecular weight greater than 1 000 daltons and equal to or lower than 10 000 daltons, with less than 10% of its components having molecular weights of less than 500 daltons, and less than 25% of its components having molecular weights of less than 1 000 daltons; or
(c) is a polyester manufactured solely from reactants listed in Schedule X to those Regulations, or an anhydrous form of those reactants, other than the reactants or their anhydrous forms that include both 1-butanol and fumaric acid.
