Owen Nolan scored twice as the Calgary Flames earned their win over the Colorado Avalanche in eight tries, 4-1 before a crowd of 19,289 at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Tuesday night.
Calgary last beat Colorado on Feb. 17.

"We cannot afford to keep giving that team points," said Flames defenceman Robyn Regehr, who had one assist.
"We are chasing them down in the standings right now. It is important for us to provide them with nothing."
Jarome Iginla and David Moss had the other goals for the Flames (9-9-3), who fired only 15 shots at Avalanche goaltender Jose Theodore.
Miikka Kiprusoff faced 20 shots.
"Across the board, everybody worked hard and did what we wanted to do, as far as everybody contributing from shift to shift," Avalanche head coach Joel Quenneville claimed. "We have got to build off today and get excited about the next game because if you do those things right, you will generally come up with something."
Marek Svatos whacked in Paul Stastny's centring pass to open the scoring for the Avalanche (11-8-1), losers of three straight games.
Nolan replied in just eight seconds, beating Theodore to the glove side with a slapshot for his third goal of the season 2:02 into the second period.
Calgary took a 2-1 lead on a slick play from Lombardi, who burst into the Colorado zone, put on the brakes and fed a trailing Iginla, who buried his 12th from the slot at 9:04.
Moss made it 3-1 at the 15:51 mark, tipping Daymond Langkow's pass from the boards past Theodore for his first.
Nolan completed the scoring with an empty-netter with 34 seconds remaining, his fourth goal in six games.
"I don't think I'm really doing much different," he said. "But the puck is going in."
