Vol. 137, No. 21 October 8, 2003 Registration FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION ACT Bernard Waddington Remission OrderP.C. 2003-1379 18 September, 2003 Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that collection of the amount is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act, hereby remits to Bernard Waddington the amount of $568.00 paid or payable as a benefit repayment under Part VII of the Employment Insurance Act for the 1999 taxation year, and any interest paid or payable on it. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order.) This Order remits a portion of an employment insurance benefit repayment in the amount of $568.00, paid or payable, and any interest paid or payable on that amount, by Bernard Waddington, based on unintended results of application of the Employment Insurance Act. The liability would not have arisen if the calculation of a repayment of benefits under Part VII of the Employment Insurance Act for a year took into account the portion of a lump sum payment of benefits relating to prior years.
