One of the Montréal-Toronto trains goes as far as Oakville every evening except Saturday. There is also a departure from Oakville every morning except Sunday.

Classes and services available

Two classes are available:

  • Comfort class (Economy), designed for passengers wanting comfort at the best possible price.
  • VIA 1 class, which offers all the comfort of Comfort class, but with more space, a delicious meal and other privileges. Only available on daytime journeys.

Assigned seating

Depending on your train and class of service, you might be entitled to assigned seating (or reserved seats). This will guarantee that all members of your party will be seated together if enough adjacent seats were available at the time you purchased your tickets. If you plan on travelling alone, you can even choose to be on the aisle or next to a window. While this service is always available in VIA 1 class, you can also get assigned seats in Comfort class on certain trains. Follow this link to find out more.

The train is both more economical and more comfortable than other modes of transport. In Comfort class, a one-way ticket between Montréal and Toronto costs only $77 (Comfort Supersaver fare, purchase five days in advance, taxes extra).

Montréal-Toronto trains offer you a choice of about fifty departures per week in either direction. The full journey takes about five hours. An express train leaves Montréal and Toronto at 17:00 every day except Saturday.
