The Regular fare: Go for total flexibility

With the Regular fare, you're free to change your travel arrangements as you go, without paying any service fees. And since no advance purchases are necessary, you can get Regular fare tickets up to the last minute.

The Discounted fare: Find the happy medium

You get a ticket at a reduced fare, while still retaining the liberty to adjust the times and dates of your trip for a minimal service charge per direction! You must purchase your tickets 5 days or more in advance (this fare is subject to limited availability).

The Supersaver: Travel at super prices!

You get the lowest fare available outside of our promotions. You can exchange your ticket, but conditions applying to cancellations and refunds are slightly more restrictive. You must purchase your tickets 5 days or more in advance (this fare is subject to limited availability).

Seniors: choose the best fare for you

The discounted and supersaver Comfort fares offer bigger savings than the 10% senior discount available under the regular fare. If you're looking above all else to save, you may choose either one (knowing, of course, that supersaver is the least expensive).

New!  Youth (18-25) save up to 25% with VIA Rail
If you are between the ages of 18 and 25, VIA Rail offers you a 25% discount on the adult regular fare in Comfort class (economy) and a 10% discount in sleeper class. This youth fare is even applicable on most travel passes. Photo ID required. Some conditions apply.

Are you a student?

Students 17 years of age or younger, as well as students 18+ with valid ISIC card, enjoy a 35% discount on Comfort class tickets. These tickets are completely flexible as there are no service charges to change your itinerary or cancel your trip.

However, on certain routes and during certain seasons, the Comfort Discounted or Supersaver fares may offer you greater savings. You can take advantage of these, but keep in mind that your tickets will be subject to all of the conditions and restrictions applicable to them.

For maximum flexibility and no service charges, book your trip using the "Comfort regular fare" and ask for the student discount.
