When you purchase tickets or any of our travel products on our web site, you may use one of the following credit cards accepted by VIA Rail:

Please note that all customers who purchase through our web site will have to present the credit card used in the file as proof of identification when picking up a ticket.

If you are using your debit card for an online booking, please note that this service is currently only available to cardholders of the following institutions:
RBC Royal Bank
Scotiabank
TD Canada Trust
Other financial Institutions may be added shortly.
How does Interac Online work?
Once you have selected a debit card as your method of payment, you will be asked to select your financial institution.
You will then be redirected to your financial institution's web banking web site, where you can log into your personal web banking account and confirm the transaction.
You will never be asked to give your PIN, or create a new password!

The Interac Online service is a new payment option that allows you to pay for your VIA Rail purchases online directly from your bank account safely and securely.
How does Interac Online work?
Select the "Interac Online" option when you are ready to pay for your purchases and you will be provided with a list of participating financial institutions.
Select your preferred financial institution. You will need to be registered for online banking.
Log in to online banking with your usual login ID and password.
Confirm the payment and you will be automatically re-directed to viarail.ca.
What if I need to return or exchange my train ticket(s)?
If your ticket has not yet been issued, you must cancel your ticket by logging on to RESERVIA, our online booking engine. The reimbursed amount will be directly deposited into the account you used to initially purchase the ticket.
If your ticket has already been issued, you must return with your ticket to the nearest VIA Rail ticket counter to obtain your reimbursement.
Debit card: Interac service in Canadian or US dollars only.
Money order: Must be payable to VIA Rail Canada Inc. and issued by:

Any Canadian chartered bank
Canada Post
United States Postal Service
Cheque: Personal, corporate or certified cheques must be payable to VIA Rail Canada Inc.
N.B.: Cheques must be drawn on a Canadian or American bank, Canadian trust company, credit union or caisse populaire. The name of the financial institution, branch address, and issuer's name and address must be printed on the cheque. Two valid pieces of identification bearing the person's name, signature and an expiry date must be produced. One of them must contain the person's address. Membership cards from a recreational club or group are not accepted. VIA reserves the right to refuse cheques.
