Circle Sunday, September 23, 2007 on your calendar and get your walking shoes ready because it is the 6th Anniversary of the P.E.I. Open Farm Day. Our farm gates have opened and we are inviting the public to take a tour of some of the best farms on the Island. Take this chance to discover the fresh, healthy and local produce in our province.

The P.E.I. Agriculture Awareness Committee is proud to have taken the initiative to launch this event and kick start Agriculture Awareness Month. During the month of October we will be celebrating the Agriculture and Agri-Food Industries of Canada and we’d love to have you take a tour of our farms, participate in demonstrations and understand what remarkable innovations our farms and woodlots are implementing to make farming more sustainable and efficient.

So plan a day with your family, pick out a few farms you would like to visit and get ready to experience life on a farm. Open Farm Day is your opportunity to become more aware of the fresh, healthy and local produce that is grown right here on P.E.I.
