The journal publishes articles dealing with various aspects of statistical development relevant to a statistical agency, such as design issues in the context of practical constraints, use of different data sources and collection techniques, total survey error, survey evaluation, research in survey methodology, time series analysis, seasonal adjustment, demographic studies, data integration, estimation and data analysis methods, and general survey systems development. The emphasis is placed on the development and evaluation of specific methodologies as applied to data collection or the data themselves.

Content note

Copies of all unsold and out of date issues of Survey methodology, cat. no. 12-001-XPB, are kept since their content is not out of date. These copies are sold for a cost that covers postage and handling. When no more copies are available photocopies are made. These photocopies are sold for a cost that covers postage, handling and photocopying.

History note

This document was an unnumbered Statistics Canada publication which became a supplementary document. Later it became a departmental publication or "X" number and is now a regular Statistics Canada publication. In all its forms, the periodical has published articles of interest to methodologists and statisticians. An index, covering vol. 1-18 was released in January 1993. It should be labelled 12-001-SPB and filed with catalogue no. 12-001-XPB. Any issue or article is available by interlibrary loan. See also catalogue no. 12-001-SPB.
