In the 50 years since her accession to the throne as Queen of Canada, Elizabeth II will have visited this country 20 times. On each occasion, the Queen has continued to forge a very personal and affectionate relationship with Canada and Canadians. During all such visits, Canadians have clearly reciprocated the affection and esteem Her Majesty has demonstrated not only as our Head of State, but also as a person whose entire life’s principle has been one of dedication to service to others.
