*Note – With respect to the public port of Powell River, there were two separate facilities transferred on two separate dates. Deproclamation of the Powell River public port could not occur until the last facilities, Savary Island, were transferred.

As a result of the transfers, Transport Canada no longer has the authority to regulate these waters and the federally appointed harbour masters, whose prime responsibility was the administration of the Public Ports and Public Port Facility Regulations and the Practices and Procedures, have been removed.  However, other federal departments continue to have jurisdiction at the ports.  To receive a list of other federal contacts, please contact
Mr. Sean Sunquist at (613) 949-3835.
