Cheryl Shuman won this year's top prize.
On behalf of our sponsors, The Nature of Things with David Suzuki is pleased to present the winning entries for this year’s NATURE IN FOCUS Environmental Photography Competition.

Presented in conjunction with the Planet in Focus: International Environmental Film and Video Festival, which is held each year in Toronto, the competition is designed to inspire amateur photographers to explore both their place within and their connection with the ever-changing natural environment around us.

The winning entries were chosen by a panel of judges from the contest sponsors, as well as guest judge and professional photographer Greg Pacek. This year’s Grand Prize Winner of a trip for two to the Yukon, courtesy of the Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture, is Cheryl Shuman. The contest judges admired this photograph for its drama, subtlety and candidness.
