I Found a Disc - What do I do?

Congratulations, you're the lucky recipient of a little CD lovin' courtesy of a mysterious stranger. Give it a listen, and open your mind to some new music. You might just find your new favourite band.

Now click on the comments section of this blog entry and let us know where you found it, what you think of the mix, and what you're going to do with it next.

Might we suggest you make a mix yourself, and do a little Operation Disc Drop of your own?

I found a disc at the yonge-eglinton centre in toronto. I work nearby and was going to the Starbucks in Indigo and found a disc that starts off with Hallelujah by K.D. Lang and ends with Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles. It is now officially my favorite CD, I love every minute of it! It has been in my CD player for a couple of weeks. Thank you, friendly stranger!

I found a disc on the TTC subway at Wilson Station. The tracks are great!! I will be dropping it off soon.

I found a cd in the bookstore I work at while cleaning on the 10th. It was hidden in the music and performing art section next to a Beatles Bio. I gave it a quick listen. Really good music and alot of artists I was not familiar with. I'll definately pass this on and maybe make my own cd.

Found a disc at Starbucks (Denmen/Davie, West End, Vancouver) Dec.10,2007.

Play list begins with Radiohead, ending with The Tragically Hip. Other artists include The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, The Clash, Sex Pistols, and more.

What a great idea!

My Husband found the disk At Blenz Coffee shop on Demand and Barclay street in Vancouver. I have taken the disk to Ottawa and am leaving at the Royal Oak @318 Bank Street on December 11, 2007.

The disk starts with Never let me down again (depeche Mode) with the last entry of Robts (flight of the concords)

I found my disc on a bench at WLU University Waterloo, it was from Nikki, thanks Nikki! I didn't like most of it sadly, but this one is travelling to Nashville by Chirstmas time! Watch out!

found the "women rock" mix in the university of lethbridge art gallery. thanks for sharing ... now where to put return it?

Picked up the one at Blenz, Denman & Barclay at 4:30 am. Cool stuff...I'm going to drop it off in another city...this disc is travellin!

My friend passed me a great disc over a pint today at Y and E toronto - she found the disc on the subway at sheppard station going south... but whoever made it has not posted yet. They made a great disc - whoever made the disc with Vetiver and Aphex twin - post because it was a great CD - I made a copy for my friend and now I am making a cd of my own and am going to drop both on my way to work...where? Who knows.

Having a pint with a friend today at a pub at Yonge and Eg - She passed it to me across the table and told me I had to listen to this CD she found on the Shepherd Subway... It was pretty cool - some of the stuff I had and it was great to revisit it again... and a lot of it I had not heard before - a good listen - great concept - I copied some of the songs and am going to make my own tonight and then drop them along my way to work - hopefully it will brighten someone's Friday.

Found a disk sitting on a table in a lounge at Nipissing University in North Bay. It's got a decent mix of songs I don't know from artists I've heard of, so it should be an interesting listen when I get around to it. I'll probably end up dropping my own disk in the same spot tomorrow, as the idea behind this seems nifty enough.

Props! I found a mixtape carefully placed in a bus shelter near the Maryland bridge in Winnipeg mb. It was protectively sealed in a ziplock bag. Craig: I am grateful to have recieved your mix,am interested in exploring the new music, and will be certain to pass it on and create a mix of my own!

there was this great bar i use to go to years ago in Waterloo: Phil's Grandson's. the cd i found today was like walking back into that bar for 50 minutes: nine inch nails, pearl jam, indigo girls, incubus. but refreshingly the songs on the cd were not the big hits from those bands.

i found the cd in front of skydome tonight. i'll probably copy the songs from the cd into my itunes, and then put it out into the world again.

it was great to find the cd and be reminded of the bar of my youth. thanks for the neat surprise. i'll also be circulating a disc of songs i've compiled this week.

I picked up a disc drop cd i found at the local bus mall here in Ottawa. Although I really didn't know many of the bands on it, i gave it a listen and found a few gems. One of which included a great local band by the name of RIOT SERVICE, these guys sound like a modern day version of the Replacments...very good and well worth checking out. I thank whom ever made this disc for introducing me to them.
Also I will be sure to pass this disc on.

Found a disc in the smelly new and noted reading room at Winnipeg's Millennium Library. Haven't ripped it yet, but liked the first listen through (and the A side B side nature of it which I will appropriate for mine).

Found a disc attatched to a passcard reader for the student centre for Ontario College of Arts and Design. Some awesome music on it that I've never heard of before. I plan on saving the tracks on my cpu and then redropping the disc as well as one of my own that ill make.
