Ani DiFranco has a unique view on her musical style and her political life.
A combination of folk music and alternative rock, outside of the mainstream music scene, made DiFranco a fan favourite.
Her political views have garnered further respect. She has widely supported gay rights, women's rights, fought against racism, and was the first musician to receive the Woman Of Courage Award from National Organization Of Women.
In total, DiFranco has released seventeen albums, with her latest double-disc greatest hits album, 'Canon'. Plus, she just came out with a book of poetry, 'Verses'.

Hey George, Great segment with Ani DiFranco! You mentioned that folks in Buffalo, NY USA watch The Hour, but don't forget us in the Ann Arbor/Detroit MI USA area who watch you too! I don't want to move away because they might not have CBC available anywhere else! What will I do without The Hour? 11/17/2007 12:04:22 AM Lorna
awesome! this is the best interview of ani i have seen in ages- and it was actually a decent length! normally the interviews are so short, but this one was great! and it was fun to see the clips of her from a long time ago when she first started. great job! 11/15/2007 12:23:52 AM
Annie Defranco was a great idea that didn't pan out. Of course not every interview can be great. However gotta give you kuddos for not falling out of your chair when she used the word wetback. Maybe that means something else in Buffalo but to Latinos that's about as offensive as N***** is to blacks. My vote would be not to invite Annie back anytime soon. 11/14/2007 8:27:43 PM Andrew
