Winnipeg police have arrested a man who was involved in a fatal crash that claimed the life of a tow truck driver in September.
Amanda Frizzley, 26, was killed early Sept. 30 when her tow truck collided with a sport utility vehicle in downtown Winnipeg.
Police said the SUV was travelling the wrong way on a one-way street. The impact was strong enough to flip Frizzley's tow truck onto its roof.
Police say the investigation into the crash was complicated and took longer than usual because the driver of the SUV was in the hospital with serious injuries.
Winnipeg police spokeswoman Const. Jacqueline Chaput said information on specific charges isn't being released because they have not yet been formally laid. Nor will police release the man's name until charges are laid.
The man was released on a promise to appear in court.
Frizzley worked for Dr. Hook Towing of Winnipeg.
