Consular fees and method of payment

Please ensure that you pay the current and correct fee. If a fee is not paid or paid into the wrong account or an incorrect amount is paid, the processing of your application will be delayed.
Please understand that we are unable to refund small overpayments. We therefore recommend that you check the current fee before sending your application to us.

How to pay consular fees

1. Bank transfer (Überweisung) or cash deposit to our account at:

Please include the following details under Verwendungszweck (purpose):

  • the name and date of birth (DOB) of the applicant and the service provided (e.g., passport, citizenship, notarial)

Without this information the processing of your application will be delayed.

Please include one of the following with your application:

  • If you have paid via Überweisung: a copy * of your Überweisung form.
  • If you have paid via internet banking: an internet printout confirming your bank transfer.
  • If you have made a cash deposit: the original receipt * from the bank.
    * If you require a copy of the receipt for your records, you must make your own copy prior to submission of the application.

2. Verrechnungsscheck - payable to the Canadian Embassy, Consular Section.

3. Cash - If you appear in person at the embassy or at one of our consulates, you may pay cash; please make sure you have the exact amount. We stronlgy discourage you from sending cash by mail.
