Some sources estimate that as many as 90% of Canadians will require orthopaedic treatment at some point in their lives. The Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation aims to ensure that quality orthopaedic treatment is available when and where patients need it - so Canadians can keep moving!

Did you know ...?

  • Some sources estimate that more than 90% of Canadians will require orthopaedic treatment in their lifetime.
  • Any elective orthopaedic surgery - from spine to shoulder to foot - can see a wait of up to a year or longer.
  • Patients must wait on average 25 weeks for hip or knee replacement surgery.
  • Many patients, depending on where they live, must wait up to a year or longer.
