Minister Cannon to Address International Air Transport Association
The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and
Communities, will address the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA)
Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit at 9:00 a.m. on
Monday, June 4th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver.
Minister Cannon will talk about the Government of Canada’s commitment to
building a robust economy at home and enhancing global opportunities abroad.
There will be a brief question and answer session following the opening
addresses. Media representatives are invited to attend Minister Cannon’s
opening address and media availability.
About IATA:
IATA is an international trade body, created over 60 years ago by a group
of airlines. Today, IATA represents some 250 airlines comprising 94% of the
international scheduled air traffic. The organization also represents, leads
and serves the airline industry in general. Over 600 industry leaders are
expected to attend the Annual General Meeting, including more than 150
airline chief executives as well as top management from airports, civil
aviation authorities, and manufacturers.
