Improving the accessibility of this Web site, for everyone, is a priority for The Atlas of Canada. This Web site has been designed so that its contents are accessible to all users, including those using assistive technologies to receive information and interact with the Internet.
This Web site contains many interactive maps that are dynamic, highly detailed and graphic in nature. Mapping software has not yet been developed that allows the maps themselves to be accessible. As an accessible alternative, The Atlas of Canada provides textual content that describes and explains the thematic content of each map.
The Atlas of Canada is a participant in the Government of Canada’s On-line Mapping Accessibility Working Group and is committed, as mapping software develops, to make the maps on this Web site accessible.
