Community Services

The City of Ottawa’s first priority is to create “A Caring and Inclusive City.” The city funds many agencies that serve newcomers. It has a strong Equity and Diversity Policy to make sure the City’s workforce welcomes people from all backgrounds. It also encourages everyone living in Ottawa, including immigrants, to take part in heritage and arts programs that honour their own culture.

The City of Ottawa is now creating an immigration portal. It has also launched the Hire Immigrants Ottawa project to help internationally-trained professionals join the Ottawa workforce.

The Community Information Centre of Ottawa provides detailed, up-to-date, information on all Ottawa services.
