Employment
Like many small North American cities, Saint John is transforming its economic base into a diverse, knowledge-based economy.
Saint John is seeing rapid growth in its energy and advanced manufacturing, information and communications technology (ICT), tourism and health sectors. Employers are now facing labour shortages in the trades, ICT, retail, customer contact centres and tourism.
In the next five years, ICT employers expect to hire 1,300 workers in Saint John. The energy industry also expects to hire skilled trades, engineers, supervisors and contractors.
New Brunswick actively seeks qualified immigrants who will fill labour market shortages, or create employment and business opportunities here. See the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program
