World Trade OrganizationAgriculture and Agri-Food Canada, along with the International Trade Canada (ITCan), is actively engaged in negotiations at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in support of the Doha Development Agenda. Canada seeks an ambitious outcome for this important round of trade talks. On the agriculture front, our goal is to enhance Canadian agricultural prosperity by achieving a more level international playing field through the substantial reduction of trade-distorting domestic support, the elimination of export subsidies, and real and significant improvements in market access, while defending Canada's ability to choose how it markets its products. This page has been created as a resource to help you learn more about Canada's participation in the WTO negotiations on agriculture. It contains links to a number of online resources.
