The Health Policy Research Bulletin is a corporate
publication showcasing high-calibre policy relevant research
and analysis on issues of relevance to Health Canada. The
focus is on analysis done by Health Canada staff, and also
analysis done for Health Canada. The Bulletin is part
of a larger policy research program in the Applied Research
and Analysis Directorate to strengthen the dissemination and
uptake of policy research and to enhance the transfer and
uptake of knowledge within Health Canada.
In support of its overall purpose, the Health Policy Research
Bulletin will:
- highlight Health Canada's policy research achievements
and analytical capacity;
- disseminate research results and identify areas where
new research is needed;
- stimulate discourse on emerging health policy issues;
- foster networking within Health Canada's health policy
research community; and
- increase the understanding/application of policy research
techniques and methodologies.
The Bulletin is produced three times a year and is
available on-line and disseminated as a hard copy to recipients
in a number of targeted areas. Those areas are as follows:
Federal/Provincial/Territory
Health Advisory Committees; senior executives, health policy
analysts and advisors, key strategists, health policy experts
and health policy researchers in Health Canada and other Federal
Departments; policy research networks, research institutes
and centres of excellence; policy research funding agencies;
health policy researchers in academic settings; non-government
health organizations across Canada, major national health
professional associations; major hospitals; Canadian university
