Why has Industry Canada decided to replace the Contact! Website?

The Contact! Website was among the first Strategis websites developed in 1996. It evolved over the years into a site that provided a wide but uneven mix of information to small business. While the information may have been value-added for clients in the past years, there has been an explosion of new government and business websites that provide more timely and relevant information on particular topics covered by the site. This new information can be easily found through a search on the internet.

It was time for Industry Canada to review and assess the usefulness of the site. Based on that review and research pointing to the importance of management skills to business success or failure and the need for information on this topic, we decided to revamp the site into a new website focussing on business management.
