Coast Salish Blankets

The weaving of Coast Salish blankets is a sophisticated art form that has evolved over centuries. Objects of great significance to the Coast Salish peoples of southwestern British Columbia, these beautiful blankets are a symbol of purification, endowed with spiritual powers and play an important role in Salish ceremonial exchanges and provide economic benefits to their communities.
