MASTERS of the Plains: Ancient Nomads of Russia and Canada
From: December 1, 2006 To: September 3, 2007 |
For 5,000 years, two peoples were separated and united by their geography. One lived on the North American Great Prairies, the other on the Steppes of Europe and Asia. Their common bond was the northern grassland environment and the nomadic lifestyles they created. How did their unique cultures develop and diverge? MASTERS of the Plains reveals surprising answers. Featuring more than 400 artifacts from Canada and Russia, this major exhibition presents discoveries into these ancient cultures and their legacies.
Developed by the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Samara Regional Museum, Russia.
