The Illuminated Life of Maud Lewis
From:  June 5, 1997
To:      September 1, 1997

This travelling exhibit organized by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is a retrospective of the work of the famous folk artist Maud Lewis. Depicting rural scenes of small farms and coastal fishing villages of Nova Scotia, her paintings show a disapearing way of life, while evoking a sense of joy and optimism which continue to delight us.

An exhibition of 200 paintings, accompanied by artifacts from her house, pictures and a video.
