The exhibition features sculpture, prints and one wall hanging from the period during which Inuit slowly abandoned their centuries-old nomadic lifestyle and moved into small settlements. The art reflects the very culture they were leaving behind - hence "Iqqaipaa" which means "I remember" - with artifacts made out of indigenous materials such as whalebone, ivory, antler and soapstone.

James Houston, who played a pivotal role in bringing the art of the Inuit to the attention of the world, is Special Advisor to the exhibition. Out of the 183 works in the exhibition, 20 are from his private collection; the rest has been drawn from the CMC’s extensive Inuit art collection.
