Inuit Art: Tradition and Regeneration
From:  December 17, 1992
To:      May 2, 1993

Inuit oral tradition is reflected in this exhibition featuring thirty-eight sculptures from Povungnituk (Arctic Quebec). Created between 1958-1964, they illustrate Inuit myths, legends, historical accounts and observations. The display is based on the second edition of Zebedee Nungak and Eugena Arima's Inuit Stories - Povungnituk/Légendes Inuits. The exhibition will also focus on the art of young artists belonging to the "third generation" of Inuit artists.
