The work of Jane Ash Poitras combines layers of images with layers of narrative. The multiple canvasses with their chalked narrative, part of Poitras's distinctive style, represent a personal response to the question the exhibition title poses. This is her account of the other side of the story, told for the Native peoples of the Americas.
