Rebecca Baird transforms images and experiences from memories shared with her ancestors into mixed-media works of art that retell history from an aboriginal perpesctive. In an artistic rendering of the parable of the jumping mouse, Baird invites viewers to pause under the protective belly of a buffalo. The Native parable teaches that the mouse/person can achieve spiritual transformation on a journey into "the great prairie of the world around him".
