Community Nursing
Community Nursing provides public health, treatment and 24 hour emergency services in all Yukon communities outside of Whitehorse. Community Nurses are required to provide specialized clinical care in rural communities where immediate physician services are not available.

Employment Insurance (E.I.)
Employment Insurance (EI) provides temporary financial assistance for Canadians who are unemployed, through no fault of their own, while they look for work or upgrade their skills. Canadians who are sick, pregnant or caring for a newborn or adopted child, as well as those who must care for a family member who is seriously ill with a significant risk of death, may also be assisted by Employment Insurance. There are no age restrictions on benefits. Seniors who become unemployed, but wish to continue working, are eligible for employment insurance benefits.

Home support - such as meals and general assistance for seniors, medical equipment rentals and transportation - is offered, depending on the needs of a particular community, by many Red Cross branches and regions across Canada.
