Important Safety Information
on Evenflo Infant Restraint Handle Collapse
Transport Canada is advising the public that when using certain Evenflo infant
restraints (listed below) as carriers outside of the vehicle, the handle may
move out of the locked position allowing unrestrained infants to fall out of the
carriers.
This issue is not related to its use in a vehicle. However, until a fix kit
is received and the necessary changes are made, do not carry the restraint by
the handle. Always ensure that the harness system is snugly adjusted to prevent
any ejection of the infant.
Evenflo Company Inc., is offering, free of charge, a repair kit consisting of
instructions, two new triggers for handle adjustment and a tool required to
remove the old triggers and insert the new triggers.
Owners of affected restraint should contact the Evenflo helpline at
1-800-490-7497 to request a free repair kit for their restraint system. In
addition, consumers may visit a dedicated website
www.embracehandle.com to order
a fix kit and view a "how to" video.
Approximately 27,688 Canadian-marketed Evenflo infant restraints are
affected. Restraint models and model numbers affected include:
