Occupant Safety & Environmental Systems

The Section's main functions consist of:

  • type certification of domestic products and subsequent support to the Companies in obtaining foreign type certification;
  • certification of foreign products for use in Canada;
  • participation in the development of standards, policy and guidance material for the Transport Canada aircraft certification activities;
  • support to the Transport Canada regional organizations in their activities including Supplemental Type Certification;
  • participation in Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council (CARAC), international and national working groups and committees including harmonization forums; and
  • general support to the Engineering Division and Aircraft Certification Branch as required on such tasks as delegation to industry and audits.
