CETC-Ottawa Groups
The CANMET Energy Technology Centre-Ottawa (CETC-Ottawa) works with industry, trade and professional associations, utilities, universities, and other levels of government to develop and deploy leading-edge technologies in the areas of residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency and alternative, renewable and transportation energy technologies. Our programs are focused on increasing industrial energy efficiency and reducing the environmental consequences associated with the production and use of energy. CETC-Ottawa reflects the department's renewed mandate to focus on science and policy linkages for the sustainable development and use of Canada's resources through its partnerships and strategic alliances.
CETC-Ottawa supports industrial energy efficiency and clean energy technology development through cost-shared and repayable financing and "fee-for-service" business agreements. Our clean energy expertise includes:
- Alternative transportation fuels and technologies;
- Bioenergy, solar, small hydro, and wind;
- Catalytic and membrane process technologies;
- Clean fossil fuel technology and clean power generation;
- C02 capture;
- Energy efficiency for buildings, communities and industry;
- High temperature processes for the steel industry;
- Hydrogen and fuel cells.
At CETC-Ottawa we are involved in every stage of the technology development cycle, from idea to demonstration. Feasibility, economic and market analysis are integral to our scientific research. We have a proven track record of innovation and successful collaboration with a variety of domestic and international clients.
