Situation in Iraq — Priority Processing for New Family Class Applications

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is working to help reunite close family members of Canadian citizens, permanent residents and protected persons who are directly affected by the situation in Iraq.

Both new and existing Family Class applications will be given priority processing from CIC’s visa office in Damascus, Syria.

Family Class includes a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, dependent child, parent and grandparent. Protected persons in Canada who applied for permanent residence, and who included a dependant living in Iraq or the surrounding region in their application, will also be given priority processing.

See below for information on who can apply, how to apply, and how to ensure your application gets priority processing.
