The office of the Regional Director General (RDG) oversees operations of all the branches in the Atlantic Region. The RDG represents the minister and the department in the region, and brings the region's perspective to the Departmental Executive Management Committee (TMX).

The RDG’s office is responsible for the integrated delivery and coordination of the region’s programs and services. The office oversees strategic planning, programming and policy advice, and serves as the primary link to regional clients, stakeholders, provincial and municipal governments, and transportation agencies.
