Brian Jean was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and re-elected in 2006. Mr. Jean is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure & Communities. He also recently served as a member of the Special Legislative Committee on C-30, Canada's Clean Air Act.

Prior to entering politics, Mr. Jean practiced law and owned a number of small businesses. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Law degree as well as a Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Jean was Chair of the Alberta Summer Games, President of the Fort McMurray Downtown Business Association and a Director of the local Chamber of Commerce. For several years he served as Honourary Chair of the Children's Health Foundation in Fort McMurray. Mr. Jean has been a resident of Northern Alberta for over 40 years. He is an outdoors enthusiast and the father of three boys.
