Margaret Bloodworth, Deputy Minister of Transport 1997 - 2002

Margaret Bloodworth Born in Winnipeg, Man., in 1949, Margaret Bloodworth received her bachelor of arts from the University of Winnipeg and her bachelor of laws from the University of Ottawa. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979.

Her professional career has been with the federal government, among other
positions:

  • Counsel, Acting Assistant General Counsel and, subsequently, General Counsel of the Canadian Transport Commission;
  • Director General (Dispute Resolution) with the National Transportation Agency;
  • Assistant Secretary to Cabinet (Legislation and House Planning/Counsel);
  • Privy Council Office;
  • Deputy Clerk (Security and Intelligence, and Counsel), Privy Council Office;
  • Associate Deputy Minister of Transport; and
  • Deputy Minister of Transport
