Terms of ReferenceBackground In November 2001, the Canadian Seniors Partnership (CSP) was formed as a natural evolution of the Assistant Deputy Minister Seniors Cluster Steering Committee that had been established in the fall of 2000 to guide the development and launch of the Seniors Canada On-line (SCOL) Web site - a multi-jurisdictional, Government On-line (GOL) initiative. The Canadian Seniors Partnership is a new means of collaboration among government and non-government jurisdictions in Canada that has been established to implement service improvements for Canadian seniors. The Partnership serves as a forum for information sharing and collaboration that does not interfere with traditional reporting relationships and accountability. The Partnership responds to emerging federal, provincial, territorial and municipal government goals to enable easier access to, and improved delivery of programs and services to Canadians. However, the Partnership goes beyond technology. Collaboration is also encouraged among the partners to improve service across the traditional service channels ( mail, telephone and in-person) and to develop citizen-centred policy and program development. Governing Council's Roles and ResponsibilitesGoverning Council The Canadian Seniors Partnership (CSP) Governing Council membership includes senior managers and decision makers from the Government of Canada, the Provincial and Territorial governments, and non-government organizations. The Governing Council is co-chaired by a representative from the federal and provincial governments. Currently the co-chairs are the Assistant Deputy Minister , Veterans Services Branch and the Assistant Deputy Minister, Ontario Seniors Secretariat.
