The engineering division acts as a technical resource for the major functions of the Aircraft Certification Branch. The main activity is the Type Certification of Canadian designed and manufactured aircraft products. Examples of some current domestic certification programs are:

  • Bombardier C-Series
  • Bell Helicopter Textron Canada – Bell 729, 707X
  • Pratt & Whitney Canada – PW 980 APU, 610, 615

The Engineering Division also responds to a variety of tasks such as:

  • Issuance of Type Certificates for Canadian Aeronautical Products
  • Approval of Changes to the Type Design
  • Issuance of STC/LSTC/RDC for Canadian Products
  • Issuance of Appliance Type Certificate
  • Foreign Certification of Canadian Aeronautical Products.
  • MMEL
  • Flight Authorities
