CIOB Resource CentreThe Chief Information Officer Branch (CIOB) plays a key role in supporting departments and agencies improve the overall quality and value for money of government service delivery and internal operations. This support is materialized through the development of policies, standards, guidelines and tools. These work products, including work in progress, are offered in the Resource Centre with the aim of providing a common reference point of resources and guidance that better enable the support, transformation and delivery of Government of Canada (GC) services and internal operations. Enterprise ArchitectureGC Service Oriented Architecture Strategy - Statement of Direction This document introduces the Service Oriented approach and the GC SOA reference model that provides all departments and agencies with a statement of direction and orientation to help ensure a consistent adoption of SOA in support of a cohesive approach to service delivery across government. GC Service Oriented Architecture Strategy - Primer This document provides a foundational overview of the GC SOA and introduces the basic concepts of Service Oriented design from the perspective of the Canadian Federal Government. Profile of GC Information Technology Services This document provides an enterprise view and reference point for GC's IT Programs that supports the development of consistent IT service descriptions, more detailed IT service catalogues of IT Service Providers (as required), as well as the basis for common planning, design and communications of GC IT Services across government. DCE Architecture Blueprint This document presents a framework to guide the engineering, implementation and delivery of the DCE service offerings, informed and aligned with GC-level and IT Program-level enterprise architecture views.
