TBS Participating in GTEC Week
The Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) is participating in GTEC
(Government Technology Week), which will be held in Ottawa from October 3 to
October 5, 2005. The theme of this year's conference is "Leading the Way:
The Future of IT in Government".
Over the course of these three days, a number of TBS representatives will
participate as keynote speakers and panellists in the Professional
Development Forum. In addition, TBS will have a booth at the exhibition.
The TBS booth will feature three dynamic kiosks, each highlighting the
department's progress and vision with respect to key initiatives:
- Accessibility –
designing and developing a Government of Canada accessibility program and
enterprise architecture to ensure accessible Government services, information,
and programs for all Canadians;
- Shared Services –
defining the Government of Canada's strategy for transforming service delivery
by rethinking and integrating service offerings and using common business
processes, and overseeing its implementation in departments and agencies;
- Information Management
(IM) – developing and implementing an infrastructure for IM services in the
Government of Canada, to support responsible stewardship of information assets,
transparency of decision, availability of information, and compliance with
information management policies and legislation.
More information is available on the GTEC
web site.
