Communications Strategy![,](/web/20071206203843im_/http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/cioscripts/images/line450x1.gif)
- As noted in the PIA Guidelines and the PIA Policy, an effective and comprehensive communications plan is essential to build Canadians confidence with respect to privacy issues and especially, any GOL initiatives.
- To complete your communications strategy, it is beneficial to consult with your department's Communications Strategists. They'll be able to suggest possible methods of communication, along with appropriate "wordsmithing" to help you craft the message.
- When completed, your Executive Summary may be an appropriate way to communicate the results of the PIA with the public as well.
- Also consider the timing of your communications plan. Results of PIAs must be made public in a timely fashion.
- Consider the Internet and conventional publishing methods to communicate the information.
