As designated by Order in Council for the purposes of the Privacy Act, these individuals:

  • Determine whether or not changes to programs and services have a potential impact on privacy and therefore, warrant the development of a PIA.
  • Will implement a PIA and be accountable for the PIA.
  • Establish processes for consulting with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC).
  • Approve the PIA prior to its submission to the OPC.
  • Determine how to respond to any advice from the OPC.
  • Approve the final PIA.
  • Promote awareness of PIA Policy requirements.
  • Ensure that the process and tools used in a PIA are rigorous.
  • Ensure that summaries of the results of PIAs are available to the public.

Note
