• Strategic Highway Infrastructure Program (New)

• Atlantic Freight Transition Program

  This program provides transitional funding to provincial governments to enhance overall system freight efficiency following the termination of the Atlantic Region Freight Assistance Act and the Maritime Freight Rates Act.

• Highway Improvement Program and Highway Improvement Agreement Program

  The objective of these programs is to assist in the creation of a more efficient and effective transportation system, thus promoting social and economic development in provinces.

• Strategic Highway Improvement Program

  This program, announced in December 1992 as part of the Strategic Capital Investment Initiative, was designed to strengthen Canada's national transportation and communication networks.
