PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION
Passenger transportation volumes
are linked to overall economic activity.
The automobile is by far the most significant means used by Canadians
to satisfy their personal travel needs.
Canadians rely on the different modes of the transportation
system -- air, ship, rail and road, including passenger vehicles
and scheduled urban and intercity transit -- for their personal
travel needs. This chapter presents an overview of passenger transportation
in Canada.
