Getting Started Step-by-Step


To begin accessing CBC Radio podcasts you will need a computer, internet access and a media player that supports the mp3 file format.


1. Download podcast software.

Podcast software will search out and retrieve the most current versions of the podcasts you subscribe to. There is free podcast software available on the internet, for example Juice Receiver external site - links will open in a new window. You will need to download and install podcast software on to your computer.

2. Copy the address of the podcast feed into your software

After you have downloaded and installed podcast software, select a CBC radio podcast you would like to subscribe to. Copy the address of the CBC radio podcast into the podcast software. For example if you wished to listen to Quirks & Quarks you would paste http://www.cbc.ca/quirks/quirks.xml into your podcast software.

3. Listen

When a new show is available your podcast software will automatically download it to your computer. Then you can listen to the show anytime you like using a media player that supports the mp3 file format, for example iTunes external site - links will open in a new window.
