Industry Canada Emergency Telecommunications - Vital Points

The objective of the Vital Points Program is to ensure that in the event of peacetime emergencies or war, facilities and services vital to the nation have been identified and that basic, current data for each vital point are readily available to the authorities as well as emergency responders.  Emergency Preparedness Canada is responsible for the management of the Vital Points Program.

Industry Canada, in cooperation with the telecommunications and broadcasting industries, identifies and evaluates related facilities that are considered vital to the nation for inclusion into the Vital Points Program.

The program is currently under review.
