IM
Day 2002, hosted by the Chief Information Officer Branch of the Treasury Board
Secretariat, is an opportunity to celebrate collective successes in Information
Management within the Government of Canada. More
than 450 participants representing over 75 organizations will gather in order
to network and share knowledge on emerging trends and issues. This special day is also an opportunity to reach
beyond the IM Community in order to promote IM as an enabling component of
effective program and service delivery.
Call for Nominations for the 2002 Agatha Bystram Award for Leadership in Information Management
Established by the Council of Federal Libraries in 1995 to honour the contribution of
Agatha Bystram (1934-1994), a highly respected pioneer in the management of
federal information resources, this award recognizes excellence in the field of
information management. Nominees must be federal government employees.
IM Everywhere
(at IM Day 2002)
IM Everywhere is
an opportunity to share an IM-related topic of your choice with your
colleagues. Show a Web site, raise an issue, bring a (short) demo, ask a
question, or distribute a document (paper is OK) - anything you think would be
of interest to the IM community. Topics can be internal or external to
your department.
Guidelines for Records Created Under a Public Key Infrastructure Using Encryption and Digital Signatures
To facilitate the development of electronic
communication at all levels, the federal government has implemented a Public
Key Infrastructure (PKI), which enables documents in electronic form to be
encrypted and to carry a digital signature. To explain its position and assist
institutions in the management and disposal of records created under a Public
Key Infrastructure using encryption and digital signatures, the National
Archives has prepared these guidelines.
